Unlock Sharp GX20 - Hull

Hi all

Having googled etc this just gets more confusing.........
Many web sites offering to unlock mobiles some for £3.99, some for £30!
Some say unlock code required, some say CD and cables, some say send the
phone to us etc etc

So the question is:

What is the cheapest hassle free way to get a Sharp GX20 unlocked from
Vodafone so I can use my O2 sim with this hand-me-down phone?
If it means taking the phone to be doctored then somewhere around Hull would
be useful.

Any help gratefully received

If it's out of contract / over 12 months old then it may be worth
speaking to O2 and asking them for the code.

If it's a UK-bought Sharp GX20, then it must be way over 12 months old!
