Default Unlocking question - advice please

I don't know much about unlocking, so please bear with me. On my old
Siemens phone I had a Virgin PAYT sim card, but could never get a decent
signal in the house. I got a new Motorola RAZR V3 last Christmas and
decided to go with Vodafone PAYT, hoping the signal would be better.
However it's just as bad, if not worse - the only place it works is
upstairs in one corner of the bedroom. But the Virgin signal seems to have
really improved lately. My Dad, who is still with them, gets a brilliant
signal on his Nokia anywhere in the house. My question is this: can I
unlock my V3 from Vodafone and use the Virgin SIM card from my old Siemens,
which I still have and which is still active? If so, how would I best go
about it?

All help appreciated

Ross

Hi,

If the handset is over twelve months old it would be possible to get
your network unlock code free of charge from Vodafone. You'd just need
to go to www.vodafone.co.uk, select 'contact us' then email.

You'll just need to provide the following information:

- Make and model of handset
- IMEI number (you can find this by entering * # 0 6 # and pressing
send)
- Address including post code

Under twelve months old and the code would be £19.99
