I'm currently organising everything for my cashback claims from
CoolNewMobile, such as scheduling expected statement dates, claim
dates, claim amounts, putting them in my calendar, etc. etc. But it
seems I've missed something.
When checking out, I stupidly didn't take a snapshot of the deal
details; hence I've no written details of how much my total cashback
claim should be. CNM require this written on every claim.
I'm on Three Talk & Text 350, which Three currently show as £25 a
month; which is also the amount on my statement for the first two
months (contract started 6th Jan). So: that should be £300 a year, the
amount I should put on the form. I'm just wary, as I know that CNM
usually make use of the Three "3 months' Half-Price Line Rental" deal,
so that the customer only claims 10.5 months from CNM, and the
remaining 1.5 months are discounted by Three automatically (as are
many of their current deals).
Hence, I just wanted to check if anyone knew any background on CNM
that can help confirm my understanding: eg. do they always make use of
the Half-Price Line Rental deals from Three, or do they also often
make use of other contract rates (such as mine appears to be, with 12
months at full price).
BTW, some gotchas, for others considering purchasing from CNM or their
sister companies:
- The confirmation email only contains the order number: no details of
mobile, contract, or deal
- The confirmation letter only contains the mobile make/model/IMEI,
and SIM IMEI; again, no mention of deal
- They might not send you the claim form automatically (they didn't
for me)
- Phone enquiries are only accepted up to 10 days after purchase;
after that, you're on your own.
All fairly obvious for the experienced cashback buyer, but useful as a
checklist.

I phoned them up when I was finning in my first cashback and they gave
me all the info I wanted over the phone, no problem.
