Default Vodafone 3g Data Card

Hi
I have a Vodafone 3g Data card plugged into a Sony XP SP2 laptop. The
laptop has just been put onto a domain, so a new profile has been
created. When I come to fire up the Vodafone software I get an error
message saying that the phone book has become corupt.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but I am still getting
the error message. As usual, Vodafone are being their helpful selves.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Lewis

don't use the software - just use the dial up connection.

If added to a domain are there any Group Polices which now prevent you
for doing certain things on the laptop? Have you now lost local power
or admin rights?

To be fair it's not really Vodafone's fault, it sounds like the new
profile has changed something. I would simply use the dial up
connections instead and avoid the software if it's having a problem.
You can check the driver's are working correctly from the device
manager. If they are then you just need to create a dial up connection
using the connect card drivers and dialing *99# has the phone
number........

Lewis has been silent - but if a Group Policy has locked down his
laptop, the ability to even add a dial-up connection may have been
removed. If the laptop has been placed on a domain and the card fails
to work I would just hand it to the IT department to deal with.
