Default vodafone 3G tariff

Has vodafone axed the "3g" tariff? I think it was something like 500
voice mins, 100 texts, 50 video mins for 40 smackers.

Their new tariffs look ok I suppose but I won't get video minutes (I
guess I'll never use that feature now anyway). What do people think
about the new vf tariffs generally?

Yes, the old 3g tariffs have been axed I'm, but I thought they were
a bit naff anyway.

I think the new ones are much better, I get 200 minutes and 500 text
for £27 a month now, and at any time I want I can get rid of my 10%
line rental discount and go up to 1000 texts or add stop the clock
if I find I'm making lots of off peak calls, really suits me.

thanks charlie. i've had a quick look at the site and i suppose they
don't look too bad. I am going to upgrade my phone soon on one of the
older anytime plans. Do you think I'll be able to get a good deal/offer
and get a phone thrown in on one of the newer tariffs without changing
my number? I've been forking out at least 45-50 smackers every month on
the account.

Basically the vodafone upgrades team work on budgets, I'm not sure what
these are, but the cheaper the phone, and the more expensive the line
rental, the more commission they get, your best bet is to call up
within 2 months of the end of your contract, tell them that you're
thinking of leaving and going to XYZ and they'll put you through to the
retentions team instead, or just ask for retentions, they can offer
pretty much the same as though you were a new connection, and yes,
you'll be able to keep the same number that way.

Thanks Charlie. I'll definitely give that a go. My two months is at the
end of this month, so I'll be practising my negotiating skills until
then!

One more question related to this - does GPRS come out of any
equivalent SMS bundles that I may have on the new tariff as is the case
with the current plans?
