Default WARNING: CPW CHEQUEBACKS

If you, like me, did a 'chequeback' deal with CPW last year, and have
submitted your 8th bill and heard nothing - start to worry!
I sent my bill TWICE by recorded delivery to the address given in the
original deal. However, CPW, without informing me, have not only
changed the address to which you now have to send chequebacks but also
the procedure.
When I enquired as to why I hadn't received any notification of
receipt of my bill I was sent a PDF with the 'New Guidelines' on it.
I should just be able to get my claim in by the 60 days.
My suspicious mind makes me think that they have done this on purpose.
According to the PDF is now necessary to submit a form and send it,
along with your bill, to:-
Redemptions
P.O. Box 4311
Dunstable
LU6 9BJ

I've only just signed up for an e2save contract, in the email it says to
send it to the Dunstable address. On the "my account" page which tells me
where to claim it has an address in Wednesbury.

No idea where to send it to, it's only a month away until my claim. The
email I got tells me "nothing in the email shall be legally binding" so I
figured I would send it to the Wednesbury one on their webpage.

Where can I find this 'new guidelines' PDF?

That company is a joke, the sooner it, and all it's nasty
affiliates go tits up and take it's nasty broadband crap
with it, the better imo.

Surely it can't be long until people realise just how
rubbish they are?

Rest assured, they are running a redirection to their new address for as
long as is necessary to catch all pre-existing customers' submissions.
Besides, they can't legally refuse you on the grounds that you sent your
claim to the old address as that was part of the T&Cs in force at the
time of your purchase.

My better half currently has an E2Save contract and has just received
her second cashback. Her first cashback arrived without any problems.
Her latest cashback was never registered as received by E2Save but a
quick call to their helpdesk along with another photocopy of her bill +
a photocopy of the recorded delivery slip was enough to get the second
chequeback sent.

So...my advise to you would be to follow up your (recorded delivery)
submission with a phonecall a couple of weeks later to confirm that your
claim is registered on their system.

The problem is the Customer Login Area is still giving the Wednesbury
address to new customers.

Default Re: WARNING: CPW CHEQUEBACKS

I have just called CPW Customer Service. I have to say that the
gentleman I spoke to was very polite an patiently listened to the
details I gave him.
He confirmed that the address for chequebacks has changed and also
confirmed that I should complete the form on the PDF.
I have done a search, via Google on
carphonewarehouse.com
mycarphonewarehouse.com
and
phonehouse.com
There is no return of the name of the PDF that I was sent, namely,
New_Redemption_Guidelines.pdf

If Reestit is correct that they are forwarding the letters to the new
address then it obviously is not working. I sent my claim in January
and I heard nothing.
The man at CPW Customer Services said I should get a text message as
soon as they receive the claim. I haven't had one so obviously the
mail is getting lost somewhere.
If you can't locate the pdf form then all it has on it is:
CLAIM number (1, 2 or 3) e.g. Claim 2
Your Name
Mobile Number
Signature and date.

However, the claim forms are not geared up to my claim. For claim 3
for example it says £150+ - my claim is for £120 so I can't work that
one out - I should have asked CPW CS but it just isn't always possible
to think up all the necessary questions.

Okay...I feel a straw poll coming on...

One of these days I'll get around to setting up a facility to create and
maintain straw polls on my website but, for now, I guess I'll just use
the public Newsgroup.

IIRC, the claims address changed around the beginning of October last
year. So... If you've sent a claim to either Carphone Warehouse, E2Save,
One Stop Phone Shop or The Phone Spot since 01 October 2006 and you sent
it to the old Wednesbury address can you state

(a) which retailer you were claiming from
(b) which month you submitted your claim
(c) where you sent your claim to i.e. "Wednesbury" or "Dunstable"
(d) whether you received a confirmation text message
(e) whether you
(1) received your cash without any need to contact the retailer
(2) received your cashback only after querying it with the retailer
(3) received your cashback only after resubmitting your claim
(4) were promised your cashback but haven't yet received it
(5) didn't contact the retailer and haven't received your cashback
(6) were refused your cashback - state the reason given
(7) other - please specify

Only those who have sent in claims since 01 October should reply to this
straw poll.

Let's see whether the anecdotal evidence points to a failure wrt to the
mail redirection that should be in place and whether it relates to ALL
Carphone Warehouse owned companies or just specific ones.

As an example of how to respond to this poll, my response to this straw
poll (on behalf of my other half) is:

(a) E2Save
(b) January 2007
(c) Wednesbury
(d) no
(e) 3
