Default Will O2 replace my 2G sim with a 3G?

I've a 2G O2 sim, but am thinking of buying a sim free 3G phone - can I
ask O2 to provide me with a new SIM?

Thanks,

Si.

If you are a contract customer, then you can get a free replacement
SIM from any store, or you can ask customer service to send one. you
can call them for free on 202 or on 08702410202.

If you are a pay and go customer, the SIM replacement is still free,
however they are not available from stores. Call customer services on
08705678678 for a replacement.

O2 have effectively stopped issuing 2G SIMS now as 3G SIMS are
backwards compatible.

Are you sure that your current SIM is not already 3G compatible? The
T-Mobile one I got nearly 2 years ago with a 2G device was a 3G USIM
with 2G backwards compatibility.

Not sure, had it just under 2 years. Wouldn't know how to tell. It's in a 2G
handset ATM.
