Default Busy "notification" on IPKall DIDs when ringing using Dialaround/Dialwise

Very strange....

I have 2 Washington DIDs provided by IPKall. These have been in operation
for
several months now. One of these numbers is registered with Google Voice.

I usually ring these 2 DIDs at least once per month from my land line using
Dialwise
(1p per minute to USA) to keep them active. I also ring the Google Voice
number and leave a voicemail, though this isn't really necessary.

Now admittedly it has been a while (around 5-6 weeks) since I last rang the
numbers, but they are still active on IPKall. I've tried over the last few
days at different times during the day and get a "The
number you have called is engaged" message using both Dialaround and
Dialwise". On the spur of the moment I dialled the numbers directly using
BT and they
all worked fine.

As I've tried different days and times, I doubt that it is a congestion
issue with Dialwise/Dialaround.

Anyone else come across this?

Yes. Dialling via 18185 gives the same engaged message as does any
other low cost routing I've tried. 'Direct' calls from a Primus line or
T-mobile mobile produces instant ring tone.

As Dialwise & Dialaround are effectively the same product, I would
want to know if all US numbers are affected, or just the IPKall ones.

I created an IPKall number, and from Localphone and Matrix Dial I get an
American engaged tone - neither route is anything to do with Betamax.
I've not tried direct dialling from my home phone or Orange.

I created an IPKall account just after I made that last post (my
existing number had expired through non use.
I pointed the URI to my voice outgoing account

I was able to call it successfully via another voipcheap account.

Just now I called it again from my BT line and a voice said the number
was unassigned on the IPKall system.

Something is wrong.

In my case I can successfully call any US number, via a Betamax company,
other than my IPKall number.

Sipgate does call the IPKall number just fine.
