Hello,
I write from Italy as I couldn't find an answer to this problem:
I installed a Sipura 3000 and it works great.
If I receive a call on my PSTN number the cordless Iconnected to Sipura
rings.
If I receive a Voip call it's ok.-
If I try to make a new call, the sipura always try to use the Voip getaway.
I would like to configure it in this way: if I press # or * the following
number should be called by the PSTN line.
Is it possible? Which parametres I have to configure?

Hello, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be functional.
I am a beginner in voip world.
I try to study what you have send me and I noticed that you add to the
"original dial plan" |<*9,:>xx.<:@gw0>| that I suppose it means that when I
press *9 the sipura uses the getaway 0 (PSTN)
Are the | and ) position correct?
Original dial plan:
(*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.)
Your dial plan
(*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.|<*9,:>xx.<:@gw0>|)
I wrote the plan in Line 1 dial plan: is this correct?
And a last question, why have you suggested to use *9 instead of only 1
digit?
Thank you very much for all your support and help.

My error - there should be a > at the end i.e. |<*9,:>xx.<:@gw0>

A very simple dial plan would be (xx.) meaning that all dialled digits
go via VoIP so (xx.|<*9,:>xx.<:@gw0>) means that all calls go via VoIP
except if you dial *9 first when the remaining digits go via PSTN. You
need to expand the dial plan to suit your local needs.
Perfect I realized what I was looking for. The error was the last | I
suppose.
A last question is why is better to use a "two digit code" as *9 and not
only a * for example.

A little bit of self help wouldn't come amiss here!!
I didn't know the answer for sure - so I tried it to see; i.e. I added
<*,:>xx.<:@gw0> to my dial plan, and it worked. You could have tried it
yourself!
BTW | in a dial plan stands for OR, so if you have OR at the end it's
looking for some more script, that's why it shouldn't have been there.
Sorry I didn't explained it very well as my English isn't very good: I have
tried to use only * it and seems to be functional: my question was if it's
better to use *9 because of any problem (i.e. interferences with other
services using only * for example).
Sorry, I would like to ask one more configuration:
I would like to obtain this:
I press *9 on my cordless and I choose to phone with PSTN Line. I also would
like that sipura send to cordless the 1022 code (is the code of my operator
in Italy)
(xx.|<*,:1022>xx.<:@gw0>) this is what I write but it seems not to be
correct as the number is done by telecom standard operator. (but it calls by
pstn lines)
In italy we have the possibility to have more operator and you have to make
a special code before the number you call to use it. (for example 1022 or
1055 and then the number).

That should work except that if you press *9 and expect this to work
you've missed out the 9, i.e. (xx.|<*9,:1022>xx.<:@gw0>)
That should cause any number dialled after *9 to be preceded with 1022

Sorry that was an error in writing the message.
But your notice permitted me to solve the problem.
I must use *9 and not only * to make the number preceded by 1022.
This could be the reason why is better to use *9 and only *??

The way I read your posting is obviously quite different to the last
post.
If you want certain calls to go out via your PSTN line you need to set
this in your dial plan. The PSTN line is gw0 (i.e. gateway zero).
This is typically what you could do to access your PSTN line:-
<#1,:>x.<:@gw0>
In this case if you press '#1' followed by string of digits the call
wil go out on your PSTN line. You can make any code of your choice so
long as it is unique.
Alternatively, you could have a 'warm line' in this case if you don't
start to dial within 4 seconds your call will route via PSTN.
This should work but I haven't tried it:
P4 x. <@gw0>
Remember that all the rules for the dial plan must be enclosed in
brackets like this:-
(rule1|rule2|rule3|rule4)
and separated, as shown, with an OR (i.e. '|').

Just use a pstn to voip auto switch easier and you get surge protection FREE

These are useless in the UK using a BT PSTN line, for the following
reason.
If you have a set up of a VoIP line and a BT PSTN line on this box, then
when you are using the VoIP line the PSTN line is taken off hook. After
a while you hear (in the background) the BT 'off hook' howling, which is
very annoying and is not satisfactory. Don't know whether this applies
to Telewest or NTL.
