How do you pronounce VoIP?

As a newby to VoIP, I've only ever seen the word written, and not heard it
spoken!

So is it a single syllable - as in voyp, or 2 syllables as in vo-ip - or not
either of those? [Other possibilities being, I presume, spelling it out as
in V-O-I-P, or half spelling it, as in Vo-I-P]

Please educate me!

Personally I go for V-O-I-P

But that scuppers the likes of talking about "voypfone" spelt
VOIPfone.co.uk

I hear both Vee oh eye pee and voyp. I use the latter (mostly!), which
I think is more popular.

Most acronyms seem to migrate to something of a spoken word eventually,
even if they sound weird to start with. In my other world of diving,
scuba is of-course S.C.U.B.A. (But how many people these days remember
that it means Self Contained Underwater Breathing Aparatus!)

I've not heard anyone trying to "say" ADSL though!
