Just been fiddling with phones trying to stop inbound calls getting
dumped straight to voipfone answer machine if both lines are busy and
discovered the call divert feature of the Draytek router, so now on busy
calls go to our old 0117 BT number via voipcheap.com and should that not
get answered they go to an "all our lines are busy etc etc" answerphone
message which is far more friendly...
Anyway, I'm rambling again, so... this then led to me setting up
"on-busy divert to" on the BT line which then goes through to our
voipfone 0845 number.
So...... back to the point, I then remembered that an 0845 may be
classed as a "peak time" number so I checked TalkTalk prices which our
BT phone calls through and made the amazing discovery....
0845 numbers 3p/1p/0.5p Pre 1st August prices daytime/evening/wends
2p / 0.5p post 1st August prices daytime/evening
So, adding our 0845 number to receive the additional 33% discount on a
single 0845 number, and then adding it as the "prime" number to receive
an extra 10% discount makes for an incredibly cheap 1.4p/minute peak
time call charge with a 4p connection.
Anyway, just a bizarre discovery.
I'll get back to work now.
Cheers
Pete
