Yeah you just dial 1899 (not 1889 as in your post) before the full number
including area code. All calls routed through this method should show up on
your 1899 bill. You can check this on their website it normally updates
pretty quick.

Be aware that the 1899 voip service uses different (higher) call rates than
the landline service. I have stopped using the voip service since they
started charging per minute on normal geographic calls. Also be aware that
if you are not on BT and have to dial their 08...... number the rates will
be higher. But the rate is always anounced at the start of the call anyway
so there can be no confusion.

Also look at another of their brands www.call18866.co.uk - depending on the
destination this can be cheaper still!

For domestic use I can't fault them - been signed up for over a year with no
problems. Always paid using Cahoot Webcard though limiting what they can
take - as they try and setup a continuous credit application on the payment
card. They apprently now offer Direct Debit which should offer some level of
protection if you can't pay via a webcard.

When you register on the 18866 or 1899 website, just enter your number without
1470 the online service wouldn't know whether you have call baring or not. So
just enter you phone number as it is eg) 0121 888 8080.

Once registered online, you just dial 18866 or 1899 before the full number -
even for local calls eg) 18866 0121 888 8080, you don't need to dial 1470
before 18866 / 1899 unless you want the person you are calling to know your
number, 18866 / 1899 and any other telecom service will know your phone
number, as number withheld only with-holds the number from the person you are
calling not the telecoms service.

I think they use VoIPPhone for incoming so they can receive incoming calls on
their PC, ATA or VoIP Phone, as at the moment VoIP Buster aren't issuing
incoming numbers.

Roy may not want people to call him on his landline, but on his VoIP service
hence VoIP Phone.

I have an incoming number from VoIP Buster, but it is an 0845 number, I
therefore have a Sipgate number for people to call me on, this is issued free,
and as it is a geographic 01 / 02 number costs the caller the same to call as
it would an ordinary landline 01 / 02 number.

I also have a USA number linked to my Sipgate number so people in the USA can
ring using the USA number.

How did you do that? I can't see any option for US numbers on the
Sipgate website. Unless I need my glasses changing!

P. (still a bit new to this!)

Yep, that's the one.

To set up with Sipgate.

Go to: http://phone.ipkall.com/ipphone

Enter your SIP ID: eg) 9895555 where it asks for SIP Phone number:

Enter: sipgate.co.uk in place of fwd.pulver.com where it asks for SIP Proxy:

And then enter your email address and create a password (PIN).
