I can see where Ivor is coming from in respect of maintaining good
standards. However, I do not regard a single posting as spam. A single
posting is informative. It may be that a web site offers something
that people in this group find of interest.
I look at it this way. If someone sends me an email, that I didn't ask
for, it is spam and it is like someone coming into my house that I
don't want to be there. However, a single posting, on a newsgroup,
is just like a billboard. It is a public place. You wouldn't want too
many billboards spoiling the environment but the odd one here and
there is OK. It might not be the best analogy but hopefully you get my
drift.
Can we not agree that a single posting, for a web site, is acceptable.
I am not including postings of any ebay ads. made by some nuisance
people.
Remove 'no_spam_' from email address.
