Default Routing query for voip numbers to other suppliers

Sometime ago I read (here, I think) that you could put in your dial plan
(I have a Sipura3000) a way of routing a geographic number you are
calling to test if it belonged to a VoiP supplier and if it did route it
for free.

Despite hours of searching I cannot find the answer.

I am with voip.co.uk and I know that if I call some-one else with a
voip.co.uk number then it's free. I now know a few people who have BT
voip numbers and I thought there was a way to route this over the voip
network.

I think you mean an 'enum' lookup.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Numbering if you don't mind wading
through some guff.

www.voipuser.org does them with through http://www.e164.org/

AFAIK, BT and voip.co.uk are closed circuits and don't indulge in peering.

Thank you. I think it was sipbroker.com that I was thinking of, which
doesn't seem to work for me, however I shall keep trying.
