Default Sipgate full CLID

I have noticed today that Sipgate now sends your complete phone number and not
just the SIP number, ie 0121 314 nnnn and not just 314nnnn.

I am sure you can work out what this now means (yes it does work).

Mine never as did others I have heard, hence we couldn't use a certain well
known provider of many services (until now).

Sometimes in my call list on the website I get the SIP ID alone, other
times I get the full PSTN number. Very odd.

Great! Thanks for that info. Let's not shout about it though else it
won't last for long.

When I dial through Sipgate, to a service that requires the sending of
DTMF tones, it appears that the tones are blocked - is this normal for
Sipgate?

Brian
if you have an option on your ATA to set the DTMF type set it to INFO. If
you are using Xlite then the DTMF wont work.

No, it will be how you have set up your software or ATA for sending tones.

With X-Lite go into Advanced System Settings, DTMF settings, and change DTMF
force send inband to YES.

DTMF Process INFO : Yes
DTMF Process AVT: Yes
DTMF Tx Method: Auto *

*Also tried on INFO - made no difference.

I tried 0800 800 150
If I call via voipfone all is well, if I use Sipgate there is no
response to my entries.
Thus, I concluded that it must be Sipgate - still think it could be my
ATA?

I have DTMF Tx Method: INFO set and it works for me.

Thanks for your comments. It was useful to know that because it meant
something else must be wrong. I found that it was the way I was
dialling the number I required. I could get through OK but then it
took no notice of my key presses.
I was using:
P3 <:08xxxxxxxxx><:@gw1>
where 08xxxxxxxxx is the number I was calling.
That did work via another operator at one time but apparently not on
Sipgate.
However if dial #01 to access (as in the syntax below) the DTMF tones
go through OK.
<#01,:08xxxxxxxxx><:@gw1>
All solved - let's hope it continues so - if so I will think Sipgate
is wonderful!

I have no idea what you are talking about and can't even guess. I must be
getting old. For the record however I have never previously noticed Sipgate
sending partial CLI. The only strange thing was that I once had to call BT
Nuisance Calls Bureau from my Sipgate account and the BT guy was very
surprised that my CLI was showing in international format as +44207nnnnnnn

You need to ensure that your system is set to send DTMF correctly, as SIP
INFO - on the Sipura range of ATA's for example use INFO in the DTMF TX
field.

Other devices may have a different name for the setting.

Do shut up, you know as well as I do that this is a setting on the ATA and
nothing to do with Sipgate or anyone else for that matter.

Set the DTMF TX mode to INFO or SIP INFO and it will work fine.
