Default VoIP Phone works like a mobile phone - no PC is required!

VoIP Phone works like a mobile phone - no PC is required!

Internet(Voip)phone service plan thru wireless network, reduce phone
charges compared to standard phone services. You may roam throughout
your network while making phone calls, wherever you have Internet
access.

I don't. I recommend a provider I find far from useless. But not every day
Ron, get your facts right.

Ron, just SHUT UP. The only thing I am currently going on about is YOU.

When you finally realise that NOBODY in this or any other group gives a
damn about you or anything you have to say, the world will be a better
place.

Ofcourse you could use a Nokia N series phone, they connect to wireless
networks and the standard mobile networks so you are never out of
signal!

It's a good idea.

This is what I mean. You are not being even-handed. One poor sod tries
to get rid of 1 Telephony card and he is given chapter and verse and
shown the door due to what is in my opinion a dubious interpretaion of
the charter. Another comes along that is in my opinion clearly in breach
of the charter and is totally ignored.

Just wanted to put in at least something of a positive comment for / about
Ivor.

Not everyone ignores you or finds your posts useless.

I certainly haven't found them to be soooo problematic, concerning,
disturbing, etc.

.... And often a variety of different voices in an active forum (as in
arena - rather than computer message forum!) keeps a place interesting,
alive, etc.

Anyhow, what do I know / perhaps Ivor can get a little carried away / single
subject over focused but I just wanted something of a positive post to be
given to Ivor because at the very least it is not really nice or fair, etc.
only to / just to lambaste someone.

Best wishes,

News Reader

Thanks for that. Maybe I do get carried away sometimes but Ron and I have
a bit of a history with regard to his hatred of Sipgate. He had a bad
experience and is forever bringing it up, he won't let it lie. Me, if I
have a bad time with a company, which I have had recently with a certain
well known high street chain of opticians, who refused to admit they'd
overcharged me for a pair of glasses, I just write to their managing
director, telling him why I will not be using them again, and leave it at
that. I don't lambast people on newsgroups forever and a day.

Just my 2p.

Ivor

My 2p worth, for what it's worth, is that both parties have positive things
to contribute (and have helped me), but everyone turns off when it gets
personal. Lets have more of the same except for the feuding - it really is
a turn off.

They may not have legal standing as such, but read the terms and
conditions of your ISP - they may well have conditions specifying
adherence to newsgroup charters.

People have lost their accounts for less.

Thast's enough from the pair of you.

I deal every day with eleven year olds who show more maturity than either of
you.

Now stop being bloody prima donnas. Shake hands, tell each other thar you've
both been prats, and get on with helping people with their problems.

I thank you.

In what way have I been immature..? Defending myself against unwarranted
personal attack..? Defending a company with which I have had excellent
service..?

Sorry if that's being immature, but at least I don't blame everything on
the Nazis.

I have not been a prat, except for the one time when I foolishly tried to
assist Mr. Chew. I won't make that mistake again, but I will *not* allow
myself to be defamed by him or anyone else.

Not at all. Although if you refrain from comparing me to him I might be
less likely to become annoyed.

Ask yourself two questions; One - personal conflicts aside, which one of
us has, in the time this group has existed (and remember who was
responsible for the group's creation in the first place) been of more
use..?

Two, do you really expect me to sit back and let myself be abused in
public without responding..?

Ivor, i used to support you - but you lost that respect when you flammed
me for an inappropriate reason. In that respect, i'd rather have Dexter
here. Although he moans at you on every opportunity - you entice him by
being drawn in. If you weren't here, then i am certain that these petty
squabbles would cease.

If Dexter left, you would find somebody else to have these childish
squabbles with!

cybuerke - look for a well respected brand, don't attempt to revive some
unknown brand. It may be a bargain and be cheap but it will give you
lots of hassle!

Likewise if he were not here they would also cease. As regards being drawn
in, as I said above I will not allow anyone to insult me for no good
reason without responding. I don't like it any more than you do, but I
will *not* stand by and just let him get on with rubbishing both me and
Sipgate with impunity. If that upsets you, then I apologise, but tough,
the ball is firmly in his court, not mine.

BTW I note you ignored my question about who has been of more assistance
to others.

I don't recall the incident, but If I flamed you for an *invalid* reason I
apologise, which is more than you'll ever get from our friend Ron.

Only if they persisted in insulting me for no valid reason.

I don't ram Sipgate down anybody's throat - show me a post where I have
done this. I have recommended them and will continue to do so, but that
isn't "ramming down throats" as you put it.

To *you* - not to everybody. I'd be willing to bet Sipgate has far more
satisfied customers than not, or they wouldn't still be in business.

I don't know the answer to that. Since it's you that's doing the asking,
presumably the answer you expect is 'Ivor Jones'. Does that mean that you
consider yourself to be more worthy? Might that be part of the problem?

Are you able to put your hand on your heart and tell me that your responses have
been worthwhile? It doesn't seem that way to me.

Try not responding, and see what happens. I promise you that I for one won't
think any the less of you.

Freshish. The trouble is, they both have valid advice to give. If only they'd
stay in different corners of the playground at break time, they'd earn so much
more respect from the silent majority.

(Me being one of those of course)

There are plenty of phone and other companies that do not have 24-hour
phone support. So what?

Do calls fail to end when hung up, and can you be charged 2000 seconds
on a forty second call?
Do callbacks go to answerphone because the last call had not hung up?
Are they charging some calls that don't exist?
Are totally spurious calls sometimes generated, and simultaneous ones
at that?
Does the automatic credit system on the account sometimes fail to work,
and why can't CS reinstate it or take a credit over the phone when you
have no PC access?

Another provider has had all these issues, but I didn't see you mention
it. And I'm not going to either.

Anybody that has ever read anything here knows that you don't like the
company. But others do. Saying it a hundred times each will not have
any effect except boring the rest of us to death

No, I don't think so. But answer the question, honestly. Who do *you*
think has been of more value, personal grievances aside..? In terms of
assistance offered, advice given, etc. - that and that alone please,
disregard our dispute in considering your answer.

But it's not *you* that he is insulting and degrading, it is me. My
responses are worthwhile *to me*. So yes is the answer to your question.

I tried that once. At the beginning of this year I made a NY resolution. I
kept it for 4 months but in the end could hold out no longer. He kept on
and on rubbishing Sipgate, and I honestly do find their service to be very
good, I certainly don't have any financial interest in them, or work for
them, which Ron keeps trying to suggest I do. He keeps saying I "ram them
down people's throats" which I really don't think I do, do you think
that..? I too have providers I don't like and wouldn't recommend, but
unlike him I don't keep on saying how crap they are and comparing them to
the Nazis.

I refer the gentleman to the reply that I gave earlier. I would *assume* that,
by quantity alone, that would be your goodself, but I may well have missed some
gems from the other side, so I can't *know* that.

Granted, it's much easier to pontificate from the sidelines. I might be a red
hot armchair referee, but that's not to say that I'm always wrong...

Well done for the 4 months. He won in the end though, did he?

At the end of the day (I hate that expression, but what the hell) it's only
usenet. It's only a reputation. It's not life or death. The world will still
be turning tomorrow. Leastways, I hope it will be. I've places to go.
