Voip USB adaptor - help

Hi,

I recently bought an IPmental Taichi 2 voip adaptor, but have found it
only works with U&Me network, or Skype using a little app called Spyke.

Does anyone know if/how this adaptor can be used with other voip
providers (presumably by linking to a softphone like x-lite?
