you retract that remark. I am merely requesting that users of this group
comply with its charter. True, I have no *authority* to *tell* you to do
anything, I am merely *asking* - what is wrong with that..? Have you read
the charter..? I don't think it is unreasonable in what it asks.

If the charter hadn't been written there would be no newsgroup and you
wouldn't be able to post this. You could have the decency to read the
work of those that created the group, even if you don't agree with it.

If people leave it will be because of people like you. I've resisted
replying before, partly because I have 'kill filed' you (dexter),
Stephan, and Stickams. But unfortunately I do see some of their posts
because they crop up as quotes in other people's posts.
I used to agree with some of your arguments, dexter. And I used to just
about managed to understand your posts despite your disabilities. But
then you got so boring with all of you moans and groans and going on and
on and on about particular dislikes. That's not what newsgroups are
about.

Ivor, since you know a bit about formation of Newsgroups etc. is there
any way that this weird bloke's account can be terminated due to
abusiveness etc. Failing that, the best way forward is not to make any
replies to those that abuse this newsgroup.
I've been reading and contributing to newsgroups for over 15 years now
and I've not come across any-one like Kaniuk.

Unfortunately, while someone can be reported to their ISP, it is rare that
any action is taken. So we have to put up with him. I propose to add him
to my killfile now (the first entry, I have always resisted until now) so
he won't bother me again.
