Does anyone know if it works with other applications like X-Lite or hardware
phones?
It looks like unregistered users can make 1min. calls to UK landlines for
free.

Great news: As from today, VoipCheap is available for all Beta testers! And on
top of that we have added some popular destinations to our list of free
countries as well.
BUT: To counter the misuse of our network and to reserve capacity for our
genuine testers, we have limited our Free-Calls policy to 1 minute per call.
If you want to enjoy UNLIMITED free calls, just register and buy 1 euro worth
of credit.

Fair enough ! thanks for that ! .... does voipbuster limit to one minute
too ?

Whenever I try to register it tells me that an unknown error has
rejected my attempt. What I was trying to find out is what CLI it
sends on outbound calls. Does anyone know if it allows you to use the
one that you've registered with 1899 for landline use?

true it just annoys me so much that these people, professionals in theri
respective areas that they may be, treat this PUBLIC forum like their own
personal playground, they think everyone should play by their rules but
that certainly isnt the case, whilst most posters on here will find most of
the stuf useful certain posters need to relise their is more to their lives
than replying and posting on here 24/7

Firstly, this is not a forum it is a newsgroup. Not pedantry, there are
specific differences.
Secondly, they are not *my* rules and it is not me personally telling you
what you can or cannot do, it is *common sense* and *respect for other
people*. This group, as with all others in the uk. hierarchy are created
to specific rules laid down and one of them is that if the group charter
specifies no advertising then that is what should be respected.
Also Stefan you should be aware that consistent abuse can and will be
reported to the poster's ISP. They have been known to revoke an account in
extreme circumstances, so you may want to rethink your attitude. The
"it's-the-internet-and-I-can-do-as-I-like-and-you-can't-stop-me" attitude
is childish and serves only to confirm other people's attitudes towards
you and your actions.
It may well be the internet but you *cannot* do exactly as you please in
all circumstances, there *are* rules that you should abide by and only
someone with no regard for others would disregard them.

Wow, you still see his posts to be able to reply to them? I'm quite
impressed that there's still somebody left who hasn't killfiled him
along with Dexter.

First, just a point of fact Stephan, I was the OP of this thread and I made
no such comment.
Ivor and Davew contend that the no advertising rule has been contravened in
this thread.
In my opinion nobody has come even close to this.
True, the subject field I chose was in a form that a spammer *might* have
used, this was quite deliberate and I make no apology for it. (It certainly
didn't seem to prevent people reading and contributing to the thread)
The body of my OP made it clear that far from promoting a product or service
my purpose was to stimulate a discussion about a 'new' one that had come to
my attention. If that isn't an appropriate topic for this Newsgroup (sorry
Ivor, Forum), then I don't know what is.
Actually I don't think my contribution was specifically referred to by Ivor
or Davew, anyone who does object should take the foregoing as a pre-emptive
strike.
Welcome's post definitely was criticised, and all he did was quote from a
website!
Perhaps Cilla has her work cut out, its not often that I find myself
agreeing with you Stephan.

I don't believe there has been any advertising.
If you don't mention a VoIP provider how can one discuss the matter, or is it
the fact only Sipgate can be mentioned?
There was a question of where the 1 minute cut off was stated, and I posted
the reference.
http://www.voipcheap.co.uk is a new service, if it wasn't posted I wouldn't
have known about it until I finally received the email.
How did others hear about Sipgate or Vonage, if people hadn't posted their
details on newsgroups.
I just can not see how what was posted could be classed as advertising.

The unknown errror could possibly be you are trying to register the same
username as you have on VoIPBuster.

This isn't a forum it's a newsgroup set up under a charter. You are
correct in that you have no *obligation* to comply with the charter but it
says a lot about you that you are so abusive about refusing to do so.
