I have used it before but i wasn't pretty much happy to have it and i think Consumers should be aware of some of the disadvantages to Verizon wireless.
High Cost
If you are trying to save money on your cell phone bill, Verizon may not be your best choice. While many regard the coverage and service as top of the line, you do have to pay for it. Verizon is tied with AT&T for most expensive plans, according to Myrateplan.com, especially if you are looking for a smart phone with data and email. As of April 2010, unlimited data plans cost $30 extra per phone, whereas some of Verizon's competitors, such as Sprint, include unlimited data in their basic plans.
No iPhone
The iPhone is one of the top selling phones in the U.S. and the fact that Verizon does not offer it is a major disadvantage. While there are rumors that Verizon may soon offer the iPhone, as of Apr. 9, 2010, it does not.
No 4G
Although Verizon is preparing to launch its 4G network in the near future, as of April 9, 2010 it hasn't. Sprint has already launched its 4G network. This is a disadvantage if you're are seeking the fastest coverage available as 4G is up to 10 times faster than 3G.
No Rollover Minutes
Verizon does not offer rollover minutes like its main competitor, AT&T. Rollover minutes allow users to keep any extra minutes they don't use at the end of each billing cycle. For Verizon's customers, minutes start over each month. |
