Is there a cheap SMS only plan in the USA?

I'm looking for a cheap SMS only plan in the USA that works with a mobile device, ideally via GSM as GSM has good coverage in my area.

I probably want to send / recv about 300 messages per month.

Anyone have recommendations as to what is the cheapest way of doing this?
