I used skype out and in for a while, but found the quality to be pretty poor. This is usually due to network problems though, I'm not sure if everyone gets poor quality on their lines. I've used it in NZ and the UK, and got the same results in both.
There are other voip providers out there that probably do a better job, but skype is so popular. Have a look for a local SIP provider and using asterisk (if you want to mess around with open source VOIP), or even look at the new MSN messenger from Microsoft, (the live version), apparently this has the ability to do land line calls. |
