Want to use fax via VoIP

I want to use fax via my vop service provider but my provider does not offer any voip fax service. I was informed that it was not very successful technology. Let me know if this is true. If voip fax does not give you any appropriate results then why some providers offer fax via VoIP?

In the begining a few VoIP service providers offered VoIP fax but there were so many complaints. This is why they had to abandon the service. Right now, no major VoIP service provider is offering fax service.

In the begining many VoIP service providers offered fax service but reason as mentioned above is the same. There were so many complaints. I guess they brought it in to the market too early. It was under experiment in the laboratories yet.
