So I've been trying to use a TP Link Access point as a client to one of my networks but it turns out the unit is significantly less sensitive than the cheap realtek USB dongle which hold reliable connection despite the - 73DB signal. So the TP link's sensitivity numbers look actually pretty good compared to some of the competition.
Do you think they may be fudging those numbers a bit? Is there a recommended access point that is known for being more sensitive? I'm happy with reliable 54G. My last resort would be to use a spare laptop to rebroadcast the signal using that dongle, a very expensive access point.
