Default Acquiring Network Address

I have a HP nx6320 laptop. Got a linksys 2.4 GHz wireless router. It was working fine and I didnot change anything except that the laptop went to hibernate.

Now, even when the Wireless button is On, Wireless Network Connection is Found but still the laptop is NOT Acquiring Network Address. Incase I force to connect, its not connecting at all.

I tried resetting the router, reboot my pc but still its not working.

I dont know what to do. Please Help !

Can you provide us the detail of your router and network card?
What setting you have done on the router? (dhcp or static ip)

You should try to upgrade the Router's firmware. I know someone who had that same problem, and we updated the firmware on his Linksys router, and it fixed the problem.

Hopefully that will work for you too .

Default Acquiring Network Address

Thank you for your help.

Router is Linksys, Wireless-G (2.4 GHz), WRT54GS with speed boosters.
I bought it last month...
Comcast is the ISP and its on DHCP.

Even tried to release the ip, reset the router, got a new ssid, downloaded the latest Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g adapter from HP's site. But its not connecting.

Could you please help !
Thank you.

Since I got the router from Frys last month, still do you think I need to have the firmware updated...

Well, I would try to update the router, even if I had bought it today....cause you don't know how long that router has been sitting on the shelf (frys usually keeps them up there forever). lol.
