Basic question about coverage please

Hi all,

I have a basic but important question I need to clarify before I implement my wireless network.

Scenario
House A has high power AP, area covered showed in green.
Houses B,C,D & E have laptops, area covered shown in blue.
Red spots are antenna placement or laptop wifi card position.

My question.

I assume that all houses will pick up the SSID of the AP at House A. Am I right in saying that only House B & C will be able to connect because there transmit power is enough to reach the AP antenna.

Or is it enough for all houses to connect because the AP coverage includes all of the houses laptops footprint.

In other words providing the laptops transmit/receive signal falls within the footprint of the AP (green Area) it will connect.

Or is the first conclusion correct that each device needs to be able to reach the antenna of each device no matter how much power the AP is pushing out.

Please let me know this makes all the difference when planning my Community network.
