Default Best way to *reduce* AP range

I know this is a bit backwards from what most posts seem to be, but I need to aggressively limit the range of my AP. I am in an enterprise environment where "unapproved" APs are not allowed which is all fine and well. However, we have a training and development lab (which is restricted by keycard access) and I would really like to set up a Cisco AP for various purposes, but I want to be sure that the signal does not leave the lab. I know that I can remove the antenna and turn down the power, but we still have enough signal to escape the lab. What are my options for reducing the signal strength further and still having a usable AP within extremely close proximity. I'd like to get it down to <10 feet if that is possible at all. Thoughts?

My initial thought is that you don't seem to have considered the devices you are going to connect to the AP. It is all very well reducing the output of the AP but you will also need to reduce the output of the connecting devices or their signal will also "escape" the Lab. If you are using laptops to connect to the AP this is not easy to accomplish.
You could try using RF absorbent foam to cover the AP and your connecting devices. You will probably have to provide something that will help air circulate around the AP to prevent overheating if you use foam or you may get away with "judicious" placement of the foam.

Good point, didn't consider that. One of the things we have that we will be connecting will be a 7920 Cisco Wireless IP Phone, so packing foam around that will be a little messy...
