boost wifi signal

Hi Newby Norman here - I have a holiday home (caravan!) on a very nice site which provides free wifi, however I'm on the edge of the site and although my iPad and laptop receive a decent signal from the nearby (40 metres) lamp post mounted wifi aerial, however my iMac desktop does not when indoors, if I take it outside internet access is great. What do I need to improve my signal reception inside the caravan? Can I get some equipment, perhaps with a roof mounted aerial to receive the signal and 'boost' it for better performance inside? - here's hoping - Norman
