can i setup my laptop as a wireless receiver?

i'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is, i would appreciate some information on it.

my problem is this: i have a wireless router upstairs which is connected to my cable modem and desktop. my xbox 360 is downstairs, too far away from my router to use a cable to connect with and i don't have a wireless receiver for my 360.

so i was wondering, can i connect to my wireless signal using my laptop, and then use a cable from my laptop to my xbox360 to get the 360 online?

i guess in a way my laptop would be acting like a router. if this is possible, i would appreciate some help on how to set it up.

Try this connect your laptop with your AP, and then share the internet by right clicking on the Wireless network card of ur laptop then advance tap and share the internet. connect the cable into laptop NIC and then from laptop your XBOX .

if it didnt work then try to enable routing and remote access on your computer .there are still some ways you could do that i think.
