Can I use any wireless router in my country? (Greece)
Hi,
I am completely new to wireless world and I am trying to buy a wireless adsl router - modem. The problem is I do not have any idea about what model could work in my country, Greece. I want to buy something from abroad (prices here are quite ridiculous) but here we refer to our lines as "adsl over pstn" or "adsl over isdn", but I do not see any kind of this characteristic in adsl - modems from i.e. England.
So the question is simple: Can an imported wireless adsl router - modem work in any country, what do I have to check, or what are the differences?
I am thinking about 2 specific models: Dynamode R-ADSL-C4WEG Wireless ADSL2/2+ or Linksys Wireless-G ADSL2+ Gateway SpeedBoost WAG54GS-UK (these are exactly their names in ebay).
To have an idea of a couple of models that work in my country, here they are: LINKSYS WRT54GC WIRELESS-G COMPACT ROUTER, LINKSYS WRT54GR WIRELESS-G BROADBAND ROUTER RANGEBOOSTER, D-LINK DI-634M 108MBPS SUPERG MIMO WIRELESS ROUTER (taken from a greek shop).
My line is referred as ADSL over PSTN.
Any help will be really appreciated, any ideas, or if you can suggest any model please do so,
Thank very much,
Nick
To have broadband access you need to sign contract with your ISP. Usually you could get wireless router from them. I think this is best choice for beginner like you.
If you need to find out more about home wireless network check
