Default Complete newb with big job---need help

Hi All,

I am tasked to setup a wireless network for an apt building. The building is 3 levels, has 60 current users, and 150 units. First step, I called the t1 providers in the area and am getting quotes.

QUESTIONS
What type of bandwidth do I need?
Any reason to have multiple t1's?
What type of hardware do I need other then the t1, and a wireless router?
How can I get it to broadcast through the whole place?

Thanks ahead of time,

Jeremy

Q1. What type of bandwidth do I need?
A1. Depends on how aggressive your per user bandwidth usage is.

Q2. Any reason to have multiple t1's?
A2-a. A single T1 circuit is 1.54 Mbps data speed. It can bog down with as few as a dozen heavy user, or may support several dozen casual users. Bonding more T1 lines increases your capacity.
A2-b. Usually a fractional T3 line is less expensive once you get past three T1 lines. I would consider other upstream internet connection options.

Q3. What type of hardware do I need other then the t1, and a wireless router?
A3. Bandwidth manager, billing/authentication server, CALEA interface, multiple access points and wired/wireless backhauls. CAPEX investment isn't "hardware" per se, but figure on $20,000 (a napkin estimate) to start our project.

Q4. How can I get it to broadcast through the whole place?
A4. Multiple access points. Several on each floor.

Projects like this require a professional experience and are way beyond any support you can get from a forum.

an access point is maxed out at 20 users. 150 units - plan on 300+ users

this is way beyond a beginners task. you need someone with a CWNA or equivalent knowledge. and enterprise grade gear. three SOHO routers won't get it done
