Connect two wireless routers

Ok i have a Netgear DG834G modem router connected to my Desktop (xp home), downstairs, i have another pc upstairs (xp home) with a netgear WG111 V2, USB adapter. I have many probs getting a good signal from router downstairs to usb adapter upstairs. now i have also a netgear WGR614 UK, wireless router, and was wondering is there any way of connecting this upstairs to my other pc, to act as a repeater or something along these lines to get a better signal, as it is an impossibility for me to run a wired network upto the second pc, so is it possible to connect these two routers wirelessly.

Only the user manuals could tell you if either model can be turned into a bridge. You can't run both in router mode.

Part of turning a router into a bridge is turning off DHCP, and giving the router a new IP address.
