connection between 2 laptops

I recently purchased 2 laptops, i'm new to the whole networking and wifi thing and need help.

The 2 laptops are identical..toshiba A215-S4697 models with Vista....i also have a dsl modem, wireless router, and laptops have wireless adapters.


Is there anyway to file share between the 2 laptops Thanks

Well you can put a RJ45 cable between them (thru lan connection of course) and make sure the cable is set as crossed. Then you can set both laptops under the same workgroup...laptops should able to see each other.

Wifi is convenient but more complicated to set up. Sorry but last time I set up a wireless between 2 pcs was more than a year ago, able to do it thru search on Google.

Its easy to setup wireless between the two laptops, just have to use it in ad-hoc mode. You can do this by going into the wireless settings and making your own network.
