Default connection issues

Hello.
so i have the Access Point working and we are cookng with it.
just to test it, i have disconnected the WAP, there is no power running to it, yet i can still use the connection and i am writing this using the connection even though it is disconnected.
Any explanations ?

Perhaps you've picked up your neighbour's wireless connection? Try connecting to the access point via the wired side and changing the SSID, that way you'll know it's your AP that you're connecting to

You have come across the reason why you should change your default SSID to something different. Your SSID should not let people know your location or type of wireless AP that you are using. I am assuming that you have security turned on?.
