Default Daisy Chain routers together for testing

Hi all,

I am trying to daisy chain 4 Pronghorn SBS Routers in a test environment (ideal conditions) as proof of concepts for a work project using LMR400, the same as Mesh Dynamics have tested theirs (Technology-Performance Results).

When i connect 2 of them i get some very erratic ping times and can only assume they have used a piece of extra equipment between AP's or it is my naivety in RF.

After a bit of digging and closer inspection of the picture it seems that they have some kind of attenuator inline on the LMR cable. Any have any ideas as to what they have used this for and anyone know where i can get on?

Does any one have any ideas?

Many Thanks

The attenuators probably have 2 functions:-
1.Prevent the Tx output of one AP from damaging the Rx of the next AP.
2.You can use the attenuator to simulate distance.
A 70dB attenuator would give you the equivalent distance of approx 0.02 miles at 2.4 GHz.

You should be able to find a variety of microwave attenuators at new/used Test Equipment stores.
