Default Dell laptops losing ability to use WPA

We have a growing number of laptops that have previously been able to connect to Access points (netgear) using WPA-PSK/TKIP security but they have suddenly decided that it is too comlicated for them and they will only use WEP!!
Any ideas anyone?
