directional atenna help.

i want to buy a directional attenna so that the signal can reach the other side of my house. but the thing is that my wireless router is sort of like 3/4 of the way through my house and that is the only place where i can have it.

So the problem is that i do not know if i should buy a directional antenna cause then is would not reach all of the house.

SO this is what i wanted to do. I am going to buy a wireless router with 2 antennas. And i am going to buy a directional antenna and put it on 1 of the antennas on the router.

But i wanted t know if i do this. would it affect the omni directional antenna that is on the router. If i put a directional antenna on one of the other antennas.

will this affect.
pleasr help. me.

It probably wouldn't be a problem to have one antenna directional and the other omni. Experiments on my home wifi router showed the signal was always better with two mismatched antennas than with just one.

You should try a homemade parabolic reflector before spending money on a new antenna, though. It might be all you need.
