Ok first of all i purchased a wireless router (Dlink DIR-625 & desktop adaptor (Dlink DWA 542) back in October and i never yet got it working. I spent all day today(about 10 hours) working on this again to no avail. I called Dlink tech support many times and was hung up on twice since they don't know what to tell me.
My router (DIR-625) seems to be installed and working fine. I can view
http://192.168.0.1/ and see all the settings no problem. This router works great as long at it is plugged in to the PC. The adaptor seems to be installed fine as the green light in the back is blinking regularily.
The problem is when i attempt to use it as wireless nothing works. It seems that windows cannot find a wireless network. Among the things i have tired are:
1) Used windows to configure my wireless settings
2) Turned the above off and tried to use the dlink adaptor configuration utility
3) unistalled, unplugged the adaptor & reinstalled the adaptor and software
4) reinstall the router settings at the
http://192.168.0.1/ website
5) tried different drivers for the adaptor (i have a1 and firmware 1.01) and i tried 1.02.
6) reset the router many times
That is what i remember. The tech support people told me to try alot of stuff to that i just can't remember all. Is there any hope of making this thing work? What is the point of a wireless router if it only works wired?
