Exclamation Extended Range Antenna Question

My friend has poor reception in her part of the house with her router, and I was wondering If this antenna would work on her router.

The Antenna:

D-Link - ANT24-0700 - 7dBi Omni-Directional Indoor Antenna at TigerDirect.com

The Router:

Linksys WRT54G Wireless G Router - 54Mbps, 802.11g, 4-Port at TigerDirect.com

I know there are different ways that the antennas connect with to routers and I wasnt sure If these two were compatible.

looks like that antenna will work with that router. the WRT54G is an awesome little box.

honestly though, for the money you could get TWO 9dbi antenna off ebay.

check these out:
eBay - 9db antenna linksys, Networking, Computers Networking items on eBay.com

i have this exact same antenna & base. they are only $15 shipped! you can buy two of those and use them with the WRT54G if you remove the bases. (they screw off)

also, you should load some better firmware on there, like DD-WRT - gives you a lot more options and you can also crank up the power.

have u tried to put the router in a proper location../ ensure if you have kept your router atleast around the middle of part of your building and more it should in open place which place is atleast near../ generaly, home wireless work good within 100/200 meters of radius../
As per my experience of 7 DBI indoor D-Link Omni antenna doesn't make any sense if you have installed your router in a corner../
BTW, what is the distance of your PC and Router..? Well, rather then purchasing Antenna for indoor, try for NetGear it has excellent range with it's built in rubber antenna../ Antenna are expensive then wireless../

Rgds,
Dhiren
