Default Extending the wireless power [range?]

Hello reader. I'm using a wireless radio, which is at the bottom corner of my home [the netgear wireless router -DG834G v3- is a floor above, next to a main wall.] The radio keeps falling out of tune [keeps buffering] and, about every ten minutes, the sound breaks-up for ten seconds. What should i do? I was thinking of using a booster on the radios floor.
Michael.
