A homework question?
WiMax is not new, if anything it's a dead-end technology. It is still a favorite for companies that get a multi-million government grant to provide wireless internet for a few dozen homes, but alas end up going bankrupt.
The future is not in tower-centric models with 300 square mile footprint on 200 foot towers. The future is low cost clusters with one or two mile footprints on low elevation towers and buildings.
3x3 MIMO is hard to do, 6x6 MIMO may work for indoor applications, but worthless for wide area WSIP deployments. |
