Default Is this a good idea

I have a roommate that has offered to purchase a wireless router that he will connect to MY computer, for his benefit, he says that he has a wireless card but has a hard time connecting. I don't know anything about Wireless routers, is this a good idea?

I guess its ok, as long as you guys set up the security and setting correctly... you really don't want to have an unsecured router connected to your computer. You should, at least, use WPA security encryption.
