Default Hawking Technologies HSB2 booster

It comes with two antenna connectors. One has antenna and one has a pigtail for connection to an access point/router. In my case pigtail would have to be pretty long, like 60feet. That would not work due to attenuation in the cable. Has enyone tried using this signal booster with another antenna instead of a very long pigtail cable. That way I can have the HSB2 booster high on a tower with omni directional for better coverage, and instead of a long pigtail, have a directional antenna pointed at the router.

I think you are using the wrong equipment , i would use a AMU-2405G-SMA 802.11g/b 500mW , AP/Client/Repeater/Bridge; LED Wan/Lan/Power; Lighting arrestors protection; Stainless Steel adjustable mounting bracket; No internal antenna panel; Plastic outdoor weatherproof case; -30c~65c ,120/240~48vdc power ,up to 30km with Yagi, 16-dbi gain[not included] , It is available from Zigwire and can be purchased including the yagie antenna for under $400 usd AMU-2405G-SMA---Zigwire

Lighting arrestors, stainless case, plastic outdoor weatherproofing case all sound great. 400 is a bit too much. I am not looking for versitile device to work as an AP/Client/Repeater/Bridge. The problem with those is that they dont repeat all access point signals. So i don't know if it will work with my router/AP. And then if i ever want to upgrade the router/AP I have to make sure that the AMU-2405G-SMA will repeat the signal. I am looking to just amplify the signal without the added functionality (AP/Repeater/Bridge).
