Default help Outdoor access point

I need to extend my wireless signal to my outdoor environment. I have connected a cat 5 cable from my wireless router in the basement ran it to my upstairs living room area and connected to a linksys "access point"... I have a different network name. My question is when I research outdoor wireless access points I read about having to have two devices and bridging. All I want to do is keep the same network but connect a wireless device outdoors to extend my network. Recommendations on hardware would be appreciated... something withing 200 to 300 feet would be nice.
