Default Help with Wireless Network

Hi, hoping someone can help us out here.

I have a wireless network using cable internet. We have 2 desktops and 2 laptops. The 2 laptops connect to my network just fine (automatically) my 2 desktops connect to a neighbors wireless which has limited to no signal. I am running a Netgear WGR614 router and each of the desktops has a Netgear WG111 wireless antenna.

On the laptops I can view all of the available networks but on both desktops (win XP) I cannot. When I try to view available networks I get a "Windows cant configure this wireless connection .......... yadda yadda yadda .... start the wireless zero configuration (WZC).

Anyone here have any advice on how I can get the desktops to show the wireless networks that are available so I can get these 2 machines onto my network?

Thanks

Get WZC to start. You should be able to make your computers use Windows to configure your wireless cards in your desktops.

It is possible that the wireless SSID you use and your neighbor use are the same (ie the default name of "default") and it is confusing the desktops. You could try and rename your SSID to something more descriptive too.

The reason windows cannot configure the connection is because the manufactures software is controlling the interface, you will have to use the netgear configuration tool, or tell the machine to let windows configure the interface. (check the box that says let windows control this device in the wireless networks tab)
