I have studied and I am still lost. Help please.
I want to create the following network configuration.
Room #1: contains my cable modem and a wireless device.
Room #2: a notebook with built in wireless.
Room #3: several components (computers, printer, etc) that are on a wired LAN.
What is the single wireless device that I can add to the wired LAN in room #3 so that the devices on that LAN will connect to the internet via the wireless device in room #1, and also connect to the notebook in room #2 .
I want all devices in the house to be on the same network (sub net ?) for easy file sharing, printer sharing, etc.
I am pretty sure that room #1 needs a wireless router, but after hours of internet searching and reading contradicting views, I am still not sure if the device needed in room #3 is a wireless access point, a wireless bridge and a switch, a wireless bridge and a hub, what?
Thanks
Z
