How do I use iwpriv (reset) command for merge cell numbers (Ad-hoc)

Hi all

I am working some experiment that network using madwifi wireless driver.
There are 3 or more nodes in the network.
All nodes are installed RHEL4 and configured Atheros chipset based wireless network card. Driver is madwifi-old wireless driver.

When I set up Ad-hoc mode, I need to wait more than 5 minute until merge cell number. Some times, it merged quickly.

What can I do for merge cell numbers of the all network nodes.

I tried command iwpriv with reset.
"iwpriv ath0 reset 2"
"iwpriv ath0 reset 3"

But , it was still not merged after input this command.
Have you any idea, please advice me ???

Also, Could you explain how to use iwpriv with reset , especially reset with 0, 1, 2, 3.
If there is some site or information about iwpriv (with reset argument), please send me.
I could not find more detailed information about iwpriv command, using the Google.
Please help me ................ ???
