I have 2 DLINK DI-524's - Can I extend my wireless network range?

Ok here's my setup. I have DSL at home. There is one DI-524 connected to the DSL modem.

I have three computers at home, one is a desktop that connects to the DI-524 via ethernet, and there are two laptops that connect to the DI-524 via wireless. However, the range for this wireless router only covers half the apartment, and can't reach the other end of the apartment.

I have an extra DI-524 that is not being used for anything at the moment. I'm not sure what the terminology is (Access Point? Gateway? Bridge?), but, is there a way to plug in this extra DI-524 to the other end of the apartment and sync with the original DI-524 in order to extend the range of wireless within the apartment?
