I am able to access a good open WIFI signal with my laptop outside my house but I would like to be able access it from inside the house as well, its a bit cold sitting outside in the winter!
From what I have read I believe that I can mount an omni-directional antenna on the roof and plug this into a USB or PCMCIA card which would be ok but I would like to be able to use the laptop wire free in the house. I can also see that I could connect the antenna to a WIFI repeater in the house and this is a possibility. But as I have a good signal outdoors I wonder why I can't just connect the roof antenna to another inside the house, I'm sure there is a very good reason why I can't and hope that one of you kind folks will put me quickly right.
