Default Internet Connection Sharing Problem

Hi, really stuck so if any1 can help ill be in their debt.
I have a netgear DG834Gv3, provided by Aol. Im using XP, and trying to connect 2 other pc's and a laptop to the router. Im using safecom usb adapters on the pc's and the laptop has a built in wireless reciever. I have so far managed to get them all connected to the router, to the extent that the system tray icon comes up saying connected - good/poor etc..., i finally got them to do this after setting up static ip's on the computers to match the routers. However i am unable to get any of them to connect to the internet. But the computer with the router attached connects fine (im using it now). I have tried messing about with ip's, security etc... but to no avail. I have also tried allowing internent connection sharing, but i get an error messae saying "an error occured... a LAN connection is already configured with the ip address need for automatic ip addressing". I can't see why there is this message. I do however have an xbox connected to the router, and this still works fine. I have searched other similar threads but none really apply.
Thanks for any help, Jimmy

EDIT: --

Ok, think i'm getting somewhere (maybe), i think i need to get the routers IP to 192.168.0.1, this way i can get ICS to work, however, when i manually set this there is a conflict and i lose the internet connection all together, so there must be something on my network with this IP address, but i cannot find it anywhere, i have tried changing all other IP address, but when pinging the IP (192.168.0.1) it still comes back with all 4 packets so there is no loss, but where is it!? Any help is gratefully recieved. Jim

I'm not too sure whether you have router or just a broadband modem... from the way you described the problem, seems you only have a broadband modem with USB port. I might get you wrong...

Anyway, here are 2 simple tutorials, have a look and you might know what to do next..

Hope helps..
